Taking a Step Back

Friday, May 16, 2014

At the end of this month, I'm moving home to live with my Mom.  My boyfriend is coming with me and the crazy thing is that this was all his idea!  It's funny how you think moving out and being on your own is going to make you a grown up and in the end it's almost more grown up to move back and save money.

Ugh
We realized that living in Boston is no way to save for a house and I really don't want to put any more of my hard earned dough in someone else's pocket so back to Mom's it is.  It would be an adjustment if it was just me but it's even MORE of an adjustment adding a third person.  It's going to take a little while to figure out who's stuff goes where and how everyone is going to get their own space and I'll do some more updates on how that's going.

Now I'll finally have enough space and light to start a container garden :)

To be honest, I think it's going to be fun.  My mom and boyfriend love each other and the especially love partnering up and torturing me and it will be great for my dog because she'll finally have a yard to run around in.  In the long run it is most definitely the best idea because we will hopefully be able to buy our own place and start on my multifamily real estate empire within a year or so!

Sometimes you need to take a step back to take a step forward.  Fingers crossed!

PS Yesterday was my little munchkin's 5th birthday so I have to include some pictures of her :)

  1. I totally agree that rents in Boston are out of control and make it so hard to save for your own home!! You guys are making the right choice for you both!! Hope the move goes well and packing is always great because you get to purge so much unwanted clutter from your life!

  2. I think this can be a very responsible decision. Also what a nice thing to be able to rely on your family when you need to! Good luck saving up for your own place someday :)
